Contemporary House in Aldwincle – one of Northamptonshire’s premium villages
We were approached by local Aldwincle family to develop their existing generous garden area. We gained planning approval for a more traditional house to the existing front garden overlooking the Conservation Area.
To the rear garden our brief was for a a contemporary house to take advantage of the unique views over the surrounding Nene Valley. Our solution was to invert the plan with the living room at first floor and bedrooms at ground level.
The glazed elevations or “eye” takes full advantage of the views whilst the rear parts are timber clad to reflect the local venacular.
